May 12th Hazel turned 5 months old! I can hardly believe it. Last night I had a dream she started talking and that freaked me out just a little bit. Everyday is a baby adventure and her personality is ever- growing. Here are a few new Hazelisms.
- She now prefers to sleep with her head covered. No matter where we lay her down she finds some way to nuzzle her head under a pillow, blanket, or cushion. Don’t worry, we always make sure she has enough air.
- She now ‘ejects’ the binky rather dramatically when she has fallen asleep. She uses it until she nods off and then once she has entered sleepy land it pops out. Its like cooking a turkey.
- She is fascinated by her fingers. She raises her hand in the air and separates her fingers while intently staring at them. She lowers her hand for a brief second and then does this again separating each finger, examining them all individually. Last night we had a hard time getting her to sleep because she was so engrossed.
- She gave herself a hickey on her wrist the other day. No joke. I was really worried she had some strange rash, then my brother suggested she ‘hickified’ herself. She is quite a strong sucker. You really have to be careful when you are holding her she goes after cheeks, arms and really any other exposed skin, even her own.
- She loves: walks, being outside, listening to daddy play the guitar, lullabies, petting the dogs, eating and of course, her mommy!
