The “Dog” Days of Summer

While it hasn’t really even been that hot here I thought the title was fitting since half of these pictures have a dog in them.  Just a quick update for today.

The 4th of July was a lot of fun we were in Salem where Phllip’s parent’s live.  Hazel loved the fireworks.  She cheered after almost everyone and “ooohed” and “awwwwed” at the others, quite the firework enthusiast.  I didn’t get any pictures because my camera doesn’t do well with the night shots.

We have been spending many of our summer days taking several walks, playing in the “water park” (Phillip put Hazel’s slide in the pool), playing with Dora (our dog), walking around half naked (Hazel, that is), and making occasional trips to the park.    Hazel’s activity of preference these days, the  ”shing” (swing).  We literally swing for 30 minutes and do nothing else.  She loves it, she says “Wheee.”

I must explain this next picture.  After Hazel’s “fun” in the pool we realized she had left a little water logged treat for us in her swimmer.  I told Phillip it was his turn and quickly headed into the house.  A few minutes later Phillip yells in the front door “I am giving her a bath on the driveway!”  Apparently he thought the best way to deal with a “stinky” situation was to just hose her off in the front yard for all the neighbors to see.  I must admit it was quite humorous and cute.  Hazel didn’t mind one bit and actually quite enjoyed being able to wield the hose.  This was the best “censored” picture of the bunch.

  • Your blog and pictures always bring a smile to my face – you made my day and have filled my heart. I must admit, that even though I loved all of the pictures, my favorites are the pictures of Hazel with Dora.

    Love you all.
