It is sadly ironic the circumstances it sometimes takes to bring family together.  This past weekend my cousins, whom I haven’t seen in 8 years ,came to the Quad Cities to visit my grandparents as their health seems to be on a downward spiral.  Although the reason for the reunion was definitely not a joyous one, the reunion itself was.  The bond of family is strangely strong; though time may pass the closeness and fondness still remain.  We had an absolutely fabulous time getting to know one another again.  Hazel was instantly attached to the girls and loved spending time with them.  It was a wonderful trip home despite the failing health of my grand-parents.  Though I must say they were in good spirits and thoroughly enjoyed being visited by their loved ones.

My grandpa stood outside his door at the assisted living facility while we left just watching us walk away he said “I’m gonna watch for as long as I can.”

Love can move mountains and can also heal. We will continue to have hope and pray for both of them.
