AFTER an intense 2 days spent packing and loading our truck then peeling out of Chicago Ridge minutes before the new owners arrived

AFTER many tears shed leaving great friends

AFTER taking Hazel to see her first in- the- theatre movie in Salem, “BRAVE”

AFTER dropping kids off with Mema and Papa then reloading our stuff into the Uhaul

AFTER traveling to Port Byron to pick up the rest of our load

AFTER lots of gas stops

(Uhaul definately doesn’t get the mpg’s of the Prius)

AFTER about 20 McD’s sweet teas between the two of us

AFTER  3 nights spent in Super 8 motels (Uhaul customers get 20% discount)

AFTER driving through Illinois, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada

AFTER missing our kids like crazy, but being very thankful Mema and Papa are watching them and that they did not have to make the trek with us and all of the contents of our three bedroom house.

AFTER traveling loooong highways like this

and this

AFTER lots (and I mean LOTS) of quality time together……

AFTER seeing some beautiful sights along the way

AFTER over 2000 miles traveled

(in a 26ft U-Haul truck with trailer and Prius in tow)

We arrived in our new little mountain town, Klamath Falls Oregon

which I didn’t take any pictures of as we were soooooooo busy

(we had 24 hours to find a rental and storage for our stuff as well as explore the area a bit)

More on that to come, but for now just wanted to let you all know we made it, Oregon is beautiful.  I am in complete awe, and yes Laura, it so much reminds me of New Zealand, which I LOVE.  (so come visit).  We did a whirlwind tour of Klamath, met Phillip’s new employer and staff (they were wonderful),  toured the area with a realtor and signed papers for an apartment.  We are now in Eugene, Oregon cheering on my brother at the Olympic Trials.

He advanced to the semi final round which he will run tonight.  Please send prayers and positive thoughts his way!  Pray for a clean race!

  1. I guess I will start commenting, since I won’t see you to talk about all your adventures. Looks beautiful! If you can find us a great job for Chris and a great school for M, maybe we’ll join you! 🙂

      • So glad you made it, the weather looked beautiful along the way , love seeing you all in the pictures. How did Hazel like her first movie? Our new neighbors seem really nice but can’t hold a candle you. Tell Phil that Abbey still looks for him and Angel keeps barking at the new neighbors (she just can’t figure out why they are at your house (lol). I am so glad that everything still seems to be falling into place for you and we are so glad that we had a part in your wonderful life journey. Please keep in touch, love and blessings to you all.

  2. What an adventure……you are too cute!!! Be thankful you are young and full of energy because that looks like too much work to me and I’d never be able to do it! 🙂 I love your blog! Thank you so much for letting me see a slice of what’s going on! I think it’s also amazing that it all worked out for you to get to see Dorian run too. See, it’s all a part of the plan! Take good care and get some rest even though you are young……it can wear you out! Sending good wishes your way……
